On Sunday 7th October, four Athona employees were up at the crack of dawn to volunteer for our charity of the year, Alzheimer’s Society and the Chelmsford Memory Walk.
The day saw nearly 3,000 people descend on Hylands Park in Chelmsford to complete the 7km or 2km Memory Walk and raise vital funds for Alzheimer’s Society. Without the support of over 90 volunteers, this event would simply not have been able to run.
Athona also had our very own ‘Tommy’s Entourage’ complete the 7km walk, who have so far raised an amazing £170.
Having supported Alzheimer’s Society throughout 2018, Athona is looking forward to raising even more funds over the next few months, with a half marathon in November and an inflatable 5K Santa run in December already planned.

Athona is passionate about making a real difference in the wider community in which we live. As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility policy, we are committed to supporting charities and good causes.
Since 2013, as a company we have partnered with a number of charities, including Little Haven’s Children’s Hospice, The Guide Dogs, Saint Francis Hospice, Médecins Sans Frontières, Brentwood Mind and The Blue Cross. In total we’ve raised an incredible £35,996.05.
This year, our focus is on supporting one employee-chosen charity throughout 2018; Alzheimer’s Society. Alzheimer’s Society believe passionately that life doesn’t end when dementia begins and provides support for anyone affected by dementia and helps to keep them connected to their lives, and the people who matter most.
