What were you doing before joining Athona?
I previously worked at another recruitment company for around nine months before transferring my apprenticeship to Athona. I decided to leave because I didnât feel like I was progressing, unlike I do at Athona.
How did you find out about the apprenticeship scheme at Athona?
Through word of mouth. A friend of mine saw it advertised on Facebook and knew I wanted a change, so I transferred my apprenticeship.
What were your initial impressions when joining us?
Itâs a lot more professional than anywhere Iâve previously been. I was welcomed straight away and everyone is friendly.
I also think the lunch & learns are great and make you feel part of the team.
How have the nursing team been?
Really good and welcoming.
Whatâs the best part of your role?
I like speaking with nurses and as cringeworthy as it sounds, Iâve never felt this happy in a job before. I never think, I donât want to be here.
What advice would you give to others looking to start an apprenticeship?
Donât fall behind with your work. Try and find time around your working hours to keep on top of your work.
What are your aspirations for the future?
I would like to become a recruitment consultant. I think I would be good at it as Iâm a talkative, friendly person. Recruitmentâs based around building relationships, and thatâs what I enjoy.
All my family work in health care so I would want to stay within the industry.
