Athona Recruitment took on Microdec in a charity football match on Saturday 26th July, winning with a 5-1 victory, to become the charity football champions.
The football match, held at Brentwood Town F.C, was the last in a long list of events organised by Athona in support of our charity of the year Little Havens Children’s Hospice. Athona and Microdec raised an amazing £1,290 from ticket sales, player’s donation and a raffle where prizes included signed memorabilia and VIP comedy tickets.
With the help of friends, family, employees and the local community, Athona has successfully achieved our £10,000 annual target for Little Havens Children’s Hospice.
Little Havens opened its doors in Thundersley in March 1998 to serve a need to support children and their families throughout the duration of an illness. They provide respite breaks, symptom control and end-of-life care to youngsters not expected to reach adulthood because of a life-limiting or life-threatening condition. It costs £2.6 million a year to provide these services.
