As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility, Athona Recruitment is committed to raising vitally needed funds for Little Havens Children’s Hospice. The goal was set to raise £10,000 by the end of July 2014 and to date, we have smashed our target and still have a Charity Football Match taking place on Saturday 26th July at Brentwood Town FC.
So far the Athona team have cycled for 24 hours through the night on an exercise bike, held a Quiz Night and a Great Gatsby Charity Ball and employees have dressed up as Santa’s and run 5k, as well as complete the London Marathon and Southend Half Marathon.
Little Havens opened its doors in Thundersley in March 1998 to serve a need to support children and their families throughout the duration of an illness. They provide respite breaks, symptom control and end-of-life care to youngsters not expected to reach adulthood because of a life-limiting or life-threatening condition. It costs £2.6 million a year to provide these services.
