Our roles offer negotiable rates of pay based on your level of experience and location within the UK. As an SpR in haematology, roles typically start from £60+ per hour, rising to £100+ per hour at consultant level. You can find the specific salary information for the role you’re interested in on its respective job description page.
A haemotologist has a very varied role that involves all stages of patient care. They may be required to deliver clinical care for life-threatening diseases one day, and analyse lab results the next. They have a holistic role within the hospital or care environment, involving lots of work with inpatients as well as outpatients.
You’ll first require excellent GCSE results and A-levels, including chemistry. You’ll then go on to undertake a five-year undergraduate degree in medicine, before undertaking an interview and admissions test for medical school. This can be followed by further clinical training and a specialty placement in haematology.
