Athona have a new position available for Band 6- Psychiatric Liaison Clinician/Nurse.
The position will be based in A Hospital within Aylesbury, for 37.5 hours per week (Consisting of 3 long days per week with one short Team meeting morning per month).
Duties and responsibilities include:
To provide mental health provision in a General Hospital. To function autonomously and competently at Band 6 level when undertaking assessments, including managing volume and demand in the busy and sometimes challenging ED working environment. Arrange and provide brief evidence-based psycho-social treatments for patients who have self-harmed. Support timely and safe discharge from the wards and for older adults admitted. This work will include working closely with the acute Trust to avoid unnecessary prolonged lengths of stay in the hospital environment, including avoidance of breaching referral to assessment time targets. Contribute to reducing unnecessary inpatient admissions to secondary care and to support and maintain appropriate care packages for patients as an alternative to admission.
The position will start on the 1st April and end on the 30th June (with potential of extension for the correct nurse).
Rate of pay is £28 per hour for day shifts, £35 for Saturdays and £45 for Sundays and Bank holidays
To be considered for this position you must
- Be UK NMC Registered
- Have a minimum of 6 months working in Mental health as a Qualified RMN in the NHS
- Have an up-to-date DBS / DBS on the update system online
