We have an excellent permanent job opportunity for a CAMHS Consultant working for a private secure service based in the South East. This is a full-time role, providing psychiatric care to a brand new 12 bedded CAMHS service.

Salary: £160,000 per annum + car allowance

Position: CAMHS Consultant

Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week

Setting: Covering 12 bed (inpatient)

Location: South East

As a CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrist, you will deliver an evidence-based and focused treatment plan to support the children and young people, and their families, as they progress through their care plans to understand eating behaviours and restore physical health.

You will work alongside the talented and experienced multidisciplinary team to create tailored treatment programmes to support the individual needs of each young person within a warm and nurturing environment. This will allow you to understand symptoms, patterns and origins of psychological distress.

For this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Review referrals and determine appropriateness for admission
  • Conduct admission assessments and maintain effective management plans of all young people on the unit
  • Conduct risk assessments and review regularly
  • Allocate specialist psychological treatments in line with individual needs
  • Assess physical health
  • Ensuring effective liaison with referring teams
  • Facilitating regular CPA review meeting
  • Act as Responsible Clinician for young people detained under the Mental Health Act
  • Involvement in quality, inspections and governance processes
  • You will also be required to take part in the On-Call Consultant rota.

For this role, we’re looking for someone who is:

  • Registered on the Specialist Register for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry with a licence to practice
  • Experience of CAMHS Forensic and/or Eating Disorders desirable
