As a Consultant CAMHS Psychiatrist working for an NHS Trust in London, your proposed hours will be Monday – Friday, 9-5 40 hours per week in a CAMHS inpatient ward. This role is a full-time position and will commence on 12th February 2024 to 5th April 2024 initially. To be considered for this role, applicants will need full GMC registration, an enhanced DBS, Section 12, AC Status.

Responsibilities of the role

When working in this post, the post holder will be overseeing a specialist inpatient mental health unit for children aged 5-13 year old’s. There is a multidisciplinary team includes psychiatrists, nurses, family therapists, clinical psychologists, speech and language therapist, occupational therapist, social workers, dietician, pharmacist, child workers, activity coordinators, administration staff, teachers and teaching assistants. The post holder will provide clinical and strategic leadership, including psychiatric assessment, risk assessment, treatment for children referred to, and those admitted to the service. Develop evidence-based, effective and agreed care plans. – chair focus meeting (ward round), meeting with Trust’s pharmacist, reflective practice, referral meeting local and national. – coordinate multiagency packages of care, treatment and supported for young people and their families with complex mental health problems. – provide consultation, co-ordinate clinical liaison with clinicians in other Tier 3 services and other agencies, including national children in-pt network.
