We have an excellent permanent job opportunity for a Rehab Associate Specialist working for a private secure service based in Middlesbrough. This is a full-time role covering 20-22 patients on long stay inpatient ward.

Salary: £85,000 per annum

Position: Rehabilitation Associate Specialist

Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week

Setting: Rehabilitation ward 20-22, long stay inpatient

Location: Middlesbrough

For this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing first line medical input to inpatients across 2 wards (20-22 long stay patients)
  • Participation in a 1 in 7 first- on-call regional medical rota.
  • Providing written and oral evidence at Hospital Managers and Tribunal hearings.
  • Preparing CPA reports and reports for clinical meetings.
  • Working effectively and collaboratively with a MDT.
  • Working alongside practice nurse and GP to ensure good quality physical healthcare.
  • Assessing new referrals to ensure that the service meets the needs of those who are appropriately admitted.

Essential criteria

  • Full GMC registration
  • To be in good standing for CPD with the Royal College of Psychiatrists
  • To be linked in with an appraisal process within the last year
  • At least 3 years’ experience of working in psychiatry
  • Experience working as a doctor within a rehabilitation, forensic or other psychiatric inpatient settings.
