Role: Support Officer

Location: Camden

Salary: £26,037 per annum

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Contract: 6-month fixed term contract

Shifts: Early and late shifts 8am – 4pm / 1pm – 9pm. Two weekends on and two weekends off and approximately 4 sleep ins a month.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Create an environment that promotes opportunities for customers to develop, learn and enable skills towards independence.
  • Be the key working officer for three customers and run key work sessions with them once a week
  • Provide mental health support
  • Help and support customers with their housing benefits & universal credit
  • Run groups with customers daily, e.g. coffee mornings, walking groups and encourage customers to participate in social inclusion activities
  • Participating in activities that promote independent living, and access to training, education and work
  • Be there to empower and teach/show how to cook, maintain personal hygiene, budget, doing laundry etc
  • Carrying out assessments and support planning to identify and prioritize needs.

What you will need to succeed:

  • Be compassionate, kind and be able to demonstrate a genuine interest in the mental health space
  • Have experience of working with customers who have mental health conditions (desirable)
  • Experience of undertaking customer assessments, support planning and key-working with a clear outcome focus.
  • Ability to provide regular monitoring information as required.
  • Knowledge and understanding of welfare benefits
  • Understanding of safeguarding
  • Strong time management skills and ability to prioritise workload
  • Ability to contribute to effective team working.
